Our Human Impact
For our biome, we decided to impact our environment by changing the temperature of the biome and not watering the plants in the biome. Instead of just doing Global Warming, we decided to do drought as well. In deserts around the world, tempatures are beginning to increase and rainfall is becoming non-existent. This causes more wildfires and watering holes to dry up. This can create a chain effect leading to all life
in deserts to die.
Our strategy to replicate this is to omit water from the biome (not spraying the plants with water every day) and adding another heat lamp to the terrarium so that the temperature increases overall. We predict that the lichen and the succulents won't live as long, but the cacti will live for a long time because they have
a water reserve.
